David E. Letourneau ’70
David E. Letourneau, Georgia, VT, died April 12, 2025, two years after his diagnosis with amyloidosis and metastatic melanoma.
He grew up in Burlington, Winooski and Isle La Motte, VT. David graduated from La Salette Seminary School in Enfield, N.H. in 1965 before coming to Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Michael’s for his bachelor’s degree majoring in French.
He joined the Air National Guard in 1966 and spent 20 years before retiring in 1986, as a TSgt with technical specialty in computer operations.
David met Judy Shaloohey in 1966, and they were married in 1968. David and Judy started their married lives in Burlington and then moved to Hinesburg, where they raised their three children. In 1985, they bought a 100-acre farm in Georgia (VT), where they raised sheep for 8 years.
He was employed at Fletcher Allen Health Care in the Histology Lab and Research Lab for several years, retiring in 2011. He loved working the land and planting vegetable and flower gardens. He spent his winters cross-country skiing and, in the spring, working with his son, Lucas, sugaring.
David is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy, two sons, a daughter, four brothers, five sisters and extended family.
